Starting a blog is one thing… but figuring out what to actually write about? That’s where most people get stuck.
For me, turning my life into blog content wasn’t something I planned overnight. It’s been a gradual shift—one that started years ago when I first tried blogging, gave up, and then came back to it this year with a completely different mindset.
Now, blogging has finally stuck. And the biggest difference?
I stopped searching for content—and started living it.
Your Life Is Already Content
When people think about blogging, they often assume they need a niche idea, something unique, or a perfectly curated life.
But the truth is much simpler.
Your life—exactly as it is—is already full of content.
For me, that includes:
- Life as a single mum
- Raising a toddler
- Rural living
- Everyday routines
- My blogging journey itself
At one point, I started noticing something interesting…
Even the smallest, most ordinary moments could turn into blog posts.
Something as simple as the programs my daughter watches sparked ideas.
That’s when it clicked.
Seeing Your Life Differently
There are days where I genuinely feel like my life is a television program—where everything that happens could become a blog post.
Not in a pressured way… but in a reflective one.
Blogging has changed how I see my day-to-day life:
- Moments feel more meaningful
- Challenges turn into lessons
- Routines become stories
Instead of asking “What should I write about?”
I now think, “What happened today that’s worth sharing?”
How I Turn Everyday Moments Into Blog Posts
I don’t always capture ideas in the moment. In fact, most of my inspiration comes after things have happened.
Here’s what that looks like for me:
I live the moment first.
Then later, I reflect on it.
From there, I build a blog post by adding:
- Lessons – What did I learn?
- Tips – What could help someone else?
- Reflection – How did it feel or change me?
Some of the simplest moments can become content, like:
- A “day in my life”
- Preparing meals
- Things my toddler says or does
- Putting together outfits
It’s not about the moment being big—it’s about making it meaningful.
Where My Ideas Come From
Inspiration comes from everywhere, not just my own thoughts.
I often use:
- The internet
- SEO keywords
- AI tools
- Conversations with friends and family
Sometimes an idea starts small and grows into something much bigger once I sit down and reflect on it.
Setting Boundaries (Without Losing Authenticity)
Turning your life into content doesn’t mean sharing everything.
In fact, boundaries are essential.
For me, there are clear lines:
- I don’t share my daughter’s name or face
- I want her to choose for herself later in life (when she’s older)
- I avoid topics like religion and politics
There’s always a balance.
Before I share anything, I think it through:
- Is this too much?
- What could the outcome be?
- Am I comfortable with this being public long-term?
You can be open and honest without giving away every part of your life.
You Don’t Need a “Perfect” Life to Start
If there’s one thing I want people to take away from this, it’s this:
Everyone starts somewhere.
You don’t need a perfectly curated life.
You don’t need everything figured out.
Your story—right now—is enough.
Blogging as a Form of Healing
For me, blogging has also been more than just content creation.
Writing about losing my dad in 2021, and reflecting on that experience, has helped in ways I didn’t expect.
It gave me a space to process, to express, and to connect.
Sometimes, the things we go through become the most meaningful things we share.
If You Think Your Life Isn’t Interesting Enough…
It is.
You’re just too close to it to see it.
The routines you live, the challenges you face, the small wins you celebrate—those are the things people relate to most.
So if you’re thinking about starting:
Just go for it.
Start by researching, exploring blogging, and seeing what feels natural to you.
You might be surprised at how much content is already in your life.
